Sewing

Hello sweet friends! I hope each of you had a very Happy Easter! We had a wonderful day!

I have been having fun sewing lately. I made these tops using Butterick Fast & Easy B5217. I was happy to find the pattern was indeed fast and easy. However, it is a loose fitting top, so I went down a size and still took in some of the sides and made a tie for it as well. I am very pleased with how they turned out and will probably make another one in a large floral print I just purchased. I also purchased a lovely green linen/cotton blend for a new skirt pattern that I hope to start sewing this week.

Thanks so much for visiting me today, and seeing what I have been sewing. I also finished making a sweet shabby pillow that I look forward to sharing in my next post!

Have a lovely day!

Hi, I'm Clarice's mom. Just wanted to say I love you tops. I've been talking about trying to do some sewing myself. I haven't made clothes in years. So this simple pattern looks like it would be a good one to try. Thanks. Linda

Both of the tops are very pretty on you, but I think I like you best in the red. Lovely next to the pink and red wreath, too!

My dear Paula,

How lovely is your needlework! Your new blouses turned out beautiful, and what a lovely photo with all the roses to capture your gardening, decorating and sewing skills! What an inspiration you are.

The entrance to your home with the gorgeous rose wreath and arrangements by the foyer door are so warm and welcoming. Your photo images evoke feelings of such peace and joy!

Our daughter and her sweet hubby just left for their home in Seattle. We will miss their joy around our home. I hope all is well in your sweet Rose Cottage as it is at ours!

You are in my thoughts today!

Your friend,
Debbykay at Rose Cottage Gardens and Farm

I like that pattern. I think I'll go pick it up when patterns go half at JoAnns.

I found your blog today. I'm guessing you live in Texas. You have a cabbage rose fabric link on your page. :)

I'm a homesick Texan stuck in Florida. I'll be sure to come back.

Paula, these are so lovely!!! If I wasn't a redhead, this is precisely what I'd want to wear all the time! And since my Emily is a brunette, I've been thinking about making her a pretty red top today. Thank you for the beautiful inspiration!

Hi Paula, your tops are so pretty and beautifully made, they don't look that easy to me they look such a nice comfortable shape.
I hope the skirt turns out as well as the tops that will be nice to see too.
I haven't made clothes for ages but my two daughters have chosen fabric for me to make them a halter top each ummmmmm not really looking forward to that much but I expect they will be ok once I get started..
