Hello sweet friends! I hope everyone had a very happy Mother's Day. I enjoyed a lovely day at home with my dear husband, sweet son and Pearl the poodle. For my Mother's Day gift my sweet son wanted me to order something from Etsy. He knows how I love shopping at Etsy! So he helped me pick out a few pretty things. I would like to thank my sweet friend Heather for telling me about this lovely shop , and the sweet and talented lady that makes these pretties!

I love these strawberries! The fabric, roses and ribbon are all so pretty!

And the little pincushion is so sweet! Everything was sewn beautifully! I also ordered some vintage-looking lace from her for sewing projects.

My dear husband gave me this cute sweater from Target. I love it! Thank you for letting me share my sweet gifts with you. Now, lets go into the sewing room.

I recently purchased this book at JoAnn with a 50% off coupon. As many of you know there are several more books in the series, and I plan to purchase them, as I was so pleased with this one. My first project was this little fabric box.

It was very easy to make and I was able to use scraps leftover from the purses I made below!

I found a fabulous and free pattern for these purses at Made By Rae. She has a lovely blog with lots of pretty things she sews!

You can use fat quarters to make these bags. I was so happy I had several fat quarters of this beautiful Barefoot Roses fabric to make them with. I enjoyed making these Buttercup bags so much! Rae's instructions are well-written and easy to follow! Thank you Rae, and thank you for sharing your pattern!!!
Thank you for stopping by my Rose Cottage today. I hope you all have wonderful week ahead!

I too, am in the sewing room and after I make all my summer tops I am going to make a few purses. Honestly, I do think we might be twins! You are the prettier one I might add!
Dearest, take care and I will stop by later in the week.

What a thoughtful son and husband you have Paula, they certainly know what the lady of the house likes. You have the prettiest things and all decorated with roses, I'm quite envious. There is always so much to tempt me around your home, it must be a lovely place to live. I was very impressed with your buttercup bags and had a look at Rae's blog...I will be calling on her again for sure. Enjoy these happy May days, Eli

What beautiful rosy things! :)
Lovely gifts Paula! I love the fabric for the bags--wouldn't a nice puffy down chair upholstered in one of those fabrics be too good to be true:-)
Paula,
I love the goodies you got from Lonna! I really love your new purses. The fabric is sooo pretty! Thank you for sharing about that book. I picked one up when I took PJ back to the airport in Tucson. I love that fabric box. I am going to make some to organize my little sewing supplies.
I hope you are having a lovely week!!
Love, Heather
Hi Paula, what a lovely post such pretty things and wonderful colours. The bags are lovely and the fabric box so handy and pretty. I love the fabric that you made the bags from..roses can't beat them.
Bye for now
Jan
My dear Paula,
I was so glad you stopped by my little Rose Cottage to share a cup of tea with me amongst the violets! Your cup of cheer that you brought was delightful! I have missed our visits and hearing all about all your gardening and sewing.
Your Mother's Day sounds fabulous. What a sweet family you have to remember you with special gifts--they know what you really like and things that make your heart sing.
Your rose dishes are so sweet. I think my great-grandmother's tea cup matches your tea pot. The rose design looked identitical to the pattern on the cup. Her tea cup is one of my few momentos I have of my English grandmother. Who would have thought that on two opposite ends of the country we would have a match!? Your table setting of your rose dishes is so exquisite--you are so creative and thoughtful in how you make your home so lovely! What a gift you have!
I still am admiring your beautiful roses on your posts. I received the David Austin catalog today. I have not ordered from them for some time, and your tip was a good reminder to obtain their catalog. My rose wish list is already so long and my dreams of more gardens so beautiful...you are an inspiration with your gorgeous roses that you grow at your Rose Cottage! A girl can always dream...! I can smell the amazing fragrance of your Gertrude Jekyll all the way to my little cottage in the woods.
Thank you for sharing all your kindness!
Warmly,
Debbykay at Rose Cottage Gardens and Farm
